Step To It
What an exciting week!! The students at Jefferson all received a pedometer that they can use during the school day. The students don’t get to keep them, and they must be left at school. At the end of every day the students are keeping track of how many steps they take during the day, how many calories they burn, and how many miles they travel. The students are really excited to get to use the pedometers.

Each student is assigned a certain pedometer that is programmed with their stride length and weight. We will use the pedometers to see how active the students are and then they will be setting goals to try to increase their activity in the next few weeks. We will also use them for station work and challenges. Students will learn how to set goals, be aware of their own physical activity, and will be using Math skills.
I’m sure that most of you have heard of “No Child Left Behind” but my theory is “No Child Left On Their Behind”.
