Study Strategy Brings Success
English 8 students try out "L to J"

As a follow up to the September in-service by Dr. Lee Jenkins, students in Ms. Roesner Heitmann's English 8 class implemented "L to J" learning strategies.
In preparation for a unit test on literary terms, students were given a daily quiz over randomly selected items from a master list. Although the quizzes were not graded, the percentage of correct definitions was recorded on a chart. Over a two week period, the class watched their success rate steadily increase until the day of the exam when they reached an all time high.
The best reward of all was that the average grade on the unit test was a 98 percent. Way to go English 8!
