Go Away, Big Green Monster!

We read the story, Go Away, Big Green Monster written by Ed Emberley. We had to read it twice because the kids loved it so much. After we read the story, we went back through and thought about what came first, second, third, etc. in the story. The kids were then given step by step directions to follow and design their big green monster.
1. Draw a huge oval for his head on green paper.
2. Make two big yellow eyes.
3. Make a long bluish-greenish nose.
4. Draw an oval on red construction paper for his mouth.
5. Make sharp white teeth.
6. Make two little squiggly ears on blue paper.
7. Make scraggly purple hair on purple construction paper.
