Golden Pride Band Hits Dallas
by Ted Luebbe
Monday, May 22, members of the Fairbury Golden Pride Band loaded their charter bus for the trip to Dallas, Texas. We rode for 10 hours to arrive at the Ripley's Believe It Or Not/Palace of Wax Museum. We toured the museum, then went to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. Check out the photos of members dancing with the Hard Rock Cafe staff to YMCA. We also stopped at the downtown Dallas park with the statues commemorating the cattle drives of yesteryear. We then traveled to the Sixth Floor Museum, with memorabilia from the assassination of President John F Kennedy. That evening we enjoyed the Texas Rangers/Anaheim Angels baseball game. The next day we performed a concert at Six Flags and spent the rest of the day enjoying the attractions. That night we took in the Medieval Times Dinner/Tounament to enjoy the pageantry from the days of knights and castles. Thursday morning came all too soon and it was time to head for home. It was a tired bunch of students and sponsors that arrived home on Thursday evening filled with memories of a great time. You can see pictures from the trip by clicking on Dallas 2006
