Hello
from Mrs. Bedlan's 2nd grade! Things are going well for us.
We are learning and having a good time. What could be
better than that? We started out the year using Kevin
Henkes's mouse books as a theme to get us started. His books
are so personable; the children can relate and get great comfort
from his characters - Lilly gets in trouble with her teacher;
Chrysanthemum's name is too long (doesn't even fit on a name tag);
Wemberly is worried about everything - just to name a few examples.
Our art projects of Lilly and her purple plastic purse were
on display at Cedarwood. One of the highlights of our
classroom is being the helper of the week which includes show and
tell and everyone is big on bringing in their pet!!! Be sure
to notice the great pictures of us with our visiting pets.
Pets are great unifiers - they are almost as great as a good
book. We love our read alouds, from The Boxcar Children to
The Invention of Hugo Cabret (a 500 page book recommended to us by
Mrs. Shinn with great artwork included!). We are learning and
bonding like a family and want to be together each day.
School is a great place!
