The important thing about today is that we learned something.
When we came into our classroom that morning, we greeted Mrs. Dux
with smiles. It was our first day of switching classes, so we
probably weren’t all smiling on the inside. After she explained
some things we were off to science with Mrs. Hudson.
Soon after we got all settled in our desks, she had us make name
tags for ourselves and we took a peek at planetariums and what a
hypothesis meant in our science book. It was a quick period, but no
assignment. Woo! After that we were all led to reading
absentmindedly.
Since it was our first day of switching classes we really didn’t
know what to expect. In reading we learned our vocabulary words,
and right after that we took a spelling pretest. (There were some
pretty easy words.)
Yes, our favorite part of the day, lunch and recess. Most of us
played dodge ball. The girls won, no offense boys. But when the
bell rang for us to go inside, we all hung our heads dreadfully and
slumped inside.
As soon as we got inside we gathered our things abruptly for math
with Mrs. McAllister. Although we really didn’t learn math, we
learned math rules, all the math rules you could think of. After
math (rules) we went to social studies, everyone’s FAVORITE class
taught by Mrs. Dux. We talked about what we would be learning in
social studies this year! We also learned about citizenship, six of
the most important rules of citizenship. Now on to our next
subject, writing.
The week before, Mrs. Dux gave us an assignment of making an
important book about ourselves and now we got to read them. It was
very interesting to hear everyone’s story. We were late for library
which was our next class.
Mrs. Stritzke reviewed what the sections of the library were again.
Man summer really drains the brains out of you. After checkout, we
swerved through lots of younger students to finally get to
music.
Mr. Zrust is our new music teacher. I interviewed him, and this is
what he said… He told us that on some days he will let us do a
shine program, in other words, a talent show.
When we finally got back to our room it was study hall. Everyone
was working until about 3:15. Everyone was anxious to get out of
there. At dismissal, all of us zoomed out of our classroom. That is
the end of a very great day. There are lots of things about today,
but the most important thing about today is that we learned
something.
