I almost fell back asleep when it hit me (not really hard) that
I was Roving Reporter.
First we did lunch count, and then we signed the Pledge of
Allegiance. After that, everyone got their books and was ready for
science.
The class showed their projects about plants. Tanner and Marissa
did the cone- bearing plants. Then we opened our books to page A14
and read how some fungi are microscopic. Then for our homework we
had to make a fungi pop-up.
We switched for reading after science. We had to check our own
papers. Everyone groaned because that meant we had to take a
grade.
Then we had an art gallery from a graphic organizer from yesterday
in reading. We turned to page 60 and learned our new vocabulary.
words for the “Empire in the Indes”.
Next it was spelling. Everyone headed back to his or her
classrooms. We took out our spelling books. Then Mrs. Dux had said
she was going to teach us how to sign some fruits names like apples
and grapes. Then she showed us how to sign banana.
We had to stop because nobody could hear Mrs. Dux because their
stomachs were grumbling so loud! We had cheesy enchiladas with
Mexican rice. Then we had an indoor recess. After that, it was time
for math.
We checked our paper, and then Mrs. Mac explained about the answers
on our papers from yesterday. Then she picked up our papers. Once
again she showed us how to grade by taking the total number of
questions there are and dividing by how many you got correct. This
will give us our grade percent. She told us to open our books to
page nine. Then she talked about decimals. Tomorrow we all should
know all about decimals because we had three pages on it!
In P.E. everyone thought Miss Seibolt was joking, but she wasn’t.
She said it was cool outside so we had to… run the MILE!!! RUN!
RUN! RUN! We were trying to beat Mrs. Mac’s class by getting higher
then 8 people in less than 10 minutes so we could have a party.
Later she came in and told us we had won!! Party time! Everyone was
cheering. The fun ended really soon because we had homework for
social studies.
Once again we checked our papers from yesterday. Then we learned
about timelines. We talked about what BC and AD meant. Mrs. Dux
said that most people think A.D. means after death, but it means
Anno Domini, a Latin term that means in the year of our Lord.
During study hall no one headed to band because Mr. Luebbe was
going to be gone. Then everyone tried to get done with work so they
didn’t have to take home their big textbooks. In everybody’s head
they were thinking it’s been a great day, except for all the
homework!
