Zach, get up! Why? Because you’re roving reporter. Oh my land, I almost forgot. I better get started telling about my day.
Before we start the day, we take lunch count. After that we do the Pledge of Allegiance in sign language, it is an important part of our morning routine. Then Mrs. Dux read peppermint in the Parlor to us, and she gave us real peppermints.
When we went to science class, we had to pass out papers. Then she explained to us our assignment. We had to do pages A34 and A35 review 1-15. That means that we will be having a Chapter 1 test coming up soon. So get ready to study!
In reading class, we learned our vocabulary words. Our assignment was to read “Protecting the Clouded Leopard.” The story was interesting. Also, we had to do workbook page 29.
Spelling is next up for the morning. We had a pre-test and had to finger spell 10 words. Also we had to finish workbook pages 26-27. Finger spelling words is something that is new to us, and I think it is a fun way to learn.
Since lunch and recess are together, that makes a good combination for the best part of the day. Today we had Fiestada Pizza which smelled like tacos. It was pizza with cheese and it even tasted like pizza. You always wonder when you try something new. At recess I played dodge ball, and so did some other people. Everyone else played all sorts of things.
As soon as we got to math class, we had a 2 minute quiz. It was a short two minutes. It had addition and subtraction. We graphed L to J, and then we checked September which was words that we had to put into standard form. Our class assignment was to do pages 37 and 38, 2-34 even.
In library we had to do a worksheet on how to look things up. Although reading is not one of my favorite things to do, it is important class to have. We learned how to look up titles, authors and series. Music class is next. We learned what ballad, phrase and a few other things mean.
If you think social studies is boring, you should have seen the video we watched today. It was about how a person lives with no arms. I am thankful that I have use of my arms because that would be very challenging. We then watched a few short video clips off of his website.
Even if you don’t have homework during study hall, it is important to be quiet so that others can study. It is the time when we can get help or ask questions on our homework. If you are in band then this was the time that they go.
So this ends another average day at Jefferson Intermediate School in Mrs. Dux’s class. We have homework to do when we get home so that we can be ready for another day of school.
