Reading Fluency

Guidance Class

All of a sudden my heart stopped beating, the earth stopped spinning, the cute little squirrels stopped eating, then I remembered that I was roving reporter! Mrs. Dux said she had to go to a meeting and would be back in ten to fifteen minutes, but we would have to be in science by then. So we had to do The Pledge of Allegiance and lunch count by ourselves

First we went to science. We read about what invertebrate and vertebrates were. Invertebrates are living things that don’t have backbones, and vertebrates do have backbones. Then the class showed their invertebrate fold outs. Some people did the mullusca (mollusks), poferia, or some others. Then of course we had an assignment, pg. 25 and 26.

In reading we checked our tests from yesterday. Then Mrs. Dux partnered us for fluency test. Everybody read as fast as they could. After that we read “Don’t Tell My Mummy”. Most likely we would have an assignment, and I was right!

The next class was spelling and sign language. We had to study our words from the whole school year because it was a unit review. Jordan raised her hand and said, “Mrs. Dux you said we were going to move desks.” Then Mrs. Dux said “fine.” So we moved desks. After moving desks we signed words and sentences. The bell rang, and it was time for lunch

Chicken noodle soup, mmmmmmmmmm, my favorite. Then for recess, kickball and dodge ball is what most people played.Once lunch and recess were over, we had math.

The first thing we did was spot check our paper from yesterday. Once done, she told us to get a piece of scratch paper out. Wonder what was in store for us! We had to solve a problem that was on the board. Then she told us about PEMDAS, which stands For Please-Parenthesis, Exponents- Excuse, Multiplication-My, Dear-Division, Aunt-Addition, Subtract-Sally, these are the order of operations. That’s what our assignment was about.

Next was P.E. For warm-up we played toilet tag. Then Sydnie led stretches. After she led, we played a game with the volleyballs.

Instead of having English, we had counseling. Mrs. McDowell came and talked about study skills.

For social studies, we studied some vocabulary words. Then we talked about our lesson 3 G.O. After that no one had smiles on their faces because we had to do one section of our G.O.

Everyone was quiet during study hall, because they had a lot of homework. Most people had homework. The students that played the trumpet or baritone went to band.

Then all of a sudden the bell rang, and everybody packed up their homework and raced to the door.
