Reading

Today was a fantastic day at Jefferson Elementary school.
The first thing we did was hangout with our friends on the tennis court while the others ate breakfast. I always choose to eat breakfast since I leave early in the morning.

Well when the bell rang, we were back in homeroom. To my amazement, Mr. Hohbein was a guest teacher for Mrs. Dux. That shocked me harder than an electric fence. Well we did our usual lunch count, flag salute in sign language, and Mr. Hohbein read Peppermints in the Parlor while someone passed out peppermints. I thought I’d save mine for later.
When a half an hour had passed, it was time for science.

Today in science, we handed in our reptile reports. To my amazement, most people chose snakes. None of us did alligators that I know of. Well when we turned that in, Mrs. Hudson handed out a sheet with a snake’s skeleton on it. She said that people say snakes have no bones in them since they slither around so much. But it looks to me like snakes have more bones than we do. Well, that was finally over, and we were on our way to reading.

I’m in Mrs. Mac’s. Today in Mrs. Mac’s class we did pages 45 and 46 in our work book pages. When we were finished with that, we read AR, or got a head start on our reading book. We had 15 to 20 minutes.

Next was spelling in homeroom class. Today we did pages 40, 41, and a pretest. We also had to finger spell 5 words, I did them all just in case.

When a half an hour had passed, (agony) it was time for lunch. Today we had pizza dunkings. They’re like plain breadsticks filled with cheese that you dunk into pizza sauce. This was followed by carrots, juices, lettuce, crumpets, and that was about it.
Now it was time for recess. Do you know what we played? We played football, dodge ball, kickball, 4 square, or hang out.
When the bell rang and we were lined up ready to go inside, we were on our way to math.

When we got our books and were in the room finally, we got our homework out, but we didn’t have any. Mrs. Mac said to turn to page 80 and review. For an assessment on page 81 we did 1-4 and out of 5-12 picked 4. We didn’t have to do them all. And when we were done we could read AR. I got done at the last minute.

When we were back, we went to social studies. Today someone brought a movie called The Prince of Egypt. When we got through, we went ahead to language arts.

Today we read our Patriot’s Pen essays. We can turn it in tomorrow.

Next came the best part of the day, library. It is one of the quietest places you could be. We went to the cafeteria because all the books were standing there that our parents can get when they go to parent teacher’s conference. 15 minutes later, we went back to the library room and read books.
