“I said Pharaoh, Pharaoh, oh baby let my people go, huh! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.” Right now we are the Hebrews, the teachers are the Egyptian Pharaohs, and the bell is Moses, sent to free us from the Egyptians. We struggle through another long day of school.
We all trudge to science with Pharaoh Hudson where we took an L to J quiz and learned more about adolescence. We colored a shoe which represented us growing larger feet when we mature. We also colored a hairy smiley face, showing that we will grow facial hair when we mature.
In reading, taught by Pharaoh Dux, we celebrated our debut of our first “Sixth Grade Snoops” Vodcast or Video podcast. We had snacks with a few invited guests that included School Board members, Principal Wiese, Principal Christiansen, and even a reporter from the Lincoln Journal Star who is writing an article on the “Roving Reporter”. He asked me questions about “Roving Reporter” for the article. It was a blast bigger than fireworks!
We practiced signing our spelling words and played a signing game during spelling. Due to difficulties in the kitchen, we absentmindedly walked down to the high school for lunch. We scarfed down our pizza pockets faster than a bolt of lightning!
On to math we went, taught by Pharaoh McAllister. We took a pretest and a review test in math. To spark a little ray of hope, Pharaoh Zrust was there to teach music where we sang our songs we wrote ourselves.
In P.E. we had a game day which we voted to play “Capture the
Flag.” Then when Pharaoh Seibolt was done with us we were sent to
Pharaoh Dux for social studies.
We partnered up and played a game of Senate which was an old Egypt
game.
Last but not least we had a program about selling magazines and
then RING! What’s that? It is Moses calling his sign of victory. We
can finally be saved from the Pharaoh’s grip.
