Social Studies Mummy Story

Well, I am roving reporter today. It seems like every time I am Roving Reporter, it falls on a Tuesday. My favorite show is on Tuesday night, so I have to tape it to watch later. After the time change this weekend, it was lighter when I got up. It used to be dark as night out.

We started the day with the Pledge of Allegiance and then we took lunch count. The ovens at school are still not working so we had cheeseburgers.

We all entered science class with excitement. Trey handed out papers. We then talked about adolescence. We then played a game called Emotions. After that we got our assignment, which was to make a bird.

In reading class we took two tests on words and sentences. We read a book called the Shoeshine Girl. It is about a girl who has to go visit her aunt because her mom is sick. Sara Ida doesn’t know that her mom is sick, and she becomes a shoeshine girl.

During spelling class we signed our two sentences about animals, and then we got our assignment. We have to do page 60 in our workbook. It is over analogies and phrase completion.

During lunch we ate cheeseburgers, ruffles chips, fruit and orange juice. At recess we played football, dodge ball and jumped rope. It was as cold as ice out today. I don’t think I am ready for that!
After recess is math class. We checked our assignment and then Mrs. Mac taught us how to use prime numbers and prime factorization. Our assignment is to do page 125 numbers 1-16 and then number 37.

Today in PE class we played Chinese freeze tag. That is when you get tagged and you stand in place until someone crawls between your legs. You can then you can run again. Two people are it. Then we stretched, and Tanner was the leader. After stretching we all jumped rope like rabbits

.
In social studies we checked pages 21-22 and then we watched a movie. After the movie, we got a piece of paper with a short story about mummies and we had to fill in the blanks.

Today was mass band day so a lot of students went to that. The rest of us stayed in the classroom and studied as quiet as mice. When the bell rang, I grabbed my books and backpack and got ready to go home. Another day at school was over!
