Science

When I think of school, I think of it as a fight. A fight, which by the way, isn’t going too well right now. I mean, like the Oakland Raiders did well at trying to get to the playoffs or the Kansas City Royals did well getting to the World Series).

Starting off in our lineup today is first base, so we grabbed our supplies and headed to science, where we were all safe!

As we were in science, we started to get our lead offs as we approached our desks. Mrs. Hudson told us to open the Nebraska fish books we had, choose one, and color it on the paper we got that had fish on it. The paper had 3 different fish on it. One was the outside of the fish, the second was the slight inner layer, and the last one was the very inner layer with the bones and skull. After that she gave us a paper that had dots and cubes, and we were supposed to estimate how many cubes were needed to finished the diagram. It was sort of like a connect the dots game. Then we found out how many actual cubes were needed to finish the diagram.

After two batters got out, our clean up hitter Mr. Shefstall, the janitor, hit a single into right field so we headed to second base reading.

In reading we read our story this week about sled dogs and the story of the Iditarod. Then we did our weekly reading test. But then our big power hitter, the clock, hit a home run into center field, so we pasted by third base spelling/sign language. After that the bottom of our order got the 3rd out so our best player, our pitcher lunch, came up to the mound.

In lunch we had hot dogs, and after that when every body went out to recess, most of them played football, boys against girls. The boys won might I add (no offense girls).

When our pitcher was ready to come out, he started off good with striking out their first 2 batters, math and P.E. But he got a very slow roller in the infield, so we were off to social studies.

In social studies, we worked with the electronic clickers again by using them for an online game show used for studying. After the opponent stole second base, he helped them to writing class.

In writing class, everyone read the rest of their stories which led them to a single but held the runner at 3rd. When band/study hall struck out, it led to the end of the game and a win for the kids.

So as you see, we may have won the game 19-0, but it’s pretty typical that we won’t win the war. So what we should do is to go out there and learn!
