My Trip to Hawaii
by Tiffany
Ring, Ring! There was my alarm. It was 1:00 am and time to get up and get ready to go to Omaha to the airport. We had to go though security. We had to take our shoes off and necklaces. If we wanted to take a bag or purse, we had to take that off too. We had to put all of the things in a container and it went in a machine. Then it came out and we put our stuff on and got it out of the container. Then we had to wait until it was time to board. We got breakfast and then we sat down and ate our food, and then I fell asleep.
Later, someone yelled for me to board the plane. I was so happy
we were getting on the plane, and I wasn’t even scared. The higher
we got in the air, the more our ears plugged, and we couldn’t see
anything because everything was getting smaller. We were in with
the clouds, and it was weird. We had three different planes on the
way there.
The first thing we did was unpack our bags. We got two rooms; one room had my sister, grandma, and me, and the other room had my mom, dad, sister, and brother in it. We liked that. Then we were hungry so we got something to eat. Just so you know, if you want to know what time it is in Maui, it’s five hours ahead of our time.
I got to go snorkeling, ride on a boat ride, take a helicopter ride, go to a Luau, do a lot of shopping, eating at a lot of restaurants, and many more activities. We all had a great time in Maui, Hawaii. They had very pretty palm trees and way different food.
We went snorkeling, but first we got on a boat. They found a spot that would be safe, and there weren’t any sharks around. It was awesome! There were a lot of pretty fish, and then we went to a different spot where the turtles were. There weren’t many turtles there. Good thing because did you know if you touch a sea turtle it would be a 10 thousand dollar fine? I was very careful not to touch one.
The Luau was where girls wear grass shirts, coconuts, and dance. Everyone there got a free super because they didn’t want us to go home hungry. Hawaii has different food then Nebraska. All the food at the luau was all mostly Hawaiian food. But they had food for kids who weren’t used to having Hawaiian food. They had chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, hotdogs, chips, and also a lot of desserts).
Oh…my! When we went on the helicopter ride my grandma and brother got sick! It was pretty bad. Good thing I was on a different helicopter. We went over mountains, and waterfalls, and it was beautiful.
Like I said, I had great fun, and I think you would all like it there.
