When I got up to go to school, something was different. It was not like any old usual day. I was Roving Reporter! I realized that I had to go to school in an hour. So I was running around the house like a chicken with its head cut off. I made it just like usual, right before the bell rang. When I went into the room, I hoped that this would be a day without homework.
Instead of going to science right away, we went to a program. The program was the Author, Shelly Gill. She is from Alaska, but born in Florida. She is a children’s author, and she enjoys it. She has a daughter who is now a rock climber in the summer, and in the winter she is an ice climber. She took her daughter for her birthday to swim with a whale. How cool is that! For my birthday, all I got was a hayrack ride! Ha! Ha!
Mrs. Hudson was in a good mood today. When we got in there, she told us to get out our test from Thursday. We all looked frantically in our folders. Then she told me to hand out the adolescence books. She told us to turn to page 32 in the book. We went over the test after we read the page. As soon as I got done picking up the test, she told us to get out our science textbook.
As we headed back to the classroom, we got saved by the bell because we were all very hungry. Today for lunch was hamburger, and the sides were rolls, salad, and lots more. We all headed outside for a windy game of football. My friends and I had the “Eye of the Tiger” and played against the boys. It was a tough, aggressive game but we managed to pull out the victory.
After recess we went to math class. Mrs. Mac taught us about Greatest Common Factor. This was a new topic for us. When class started, we were all confused about the concept of the Greatest Common Factors. However, Mrs. Mac did a great job of teaching this concept.
When math class was finished, we went to P.E. We did my favorite sport, basketball. Miss. Seibolt taught us the fundamentals of basketball. We did many drills that challenged us to become better basketball players. I hope tomorrow we get to play basketball again. P.E. was fun, and then we went into a very important topic in social studies.
Yesterday was Veteran’s Day so we discussed this topic today. We owe a lot to the men and women who have fought for our country and continue to fight for our freedom. I have four words to the men and women in the military: THANK YOU and GOD BLESS!
In summary, today we had a typical day at Jefferson Intermediate. We learned a lot in our classes. I got to be around a lot of good friends. But most importantly, we got to recognize Veteran’s Day. This day reminds us all to thank and pray for all of the military men and women.
