Drawing on Papyrus

We raced through the hallway, our hearts speeding like roadrunner, trying to rev up the day so we could get home and relax. As usual we said the Pledge of Allegiance and did lunch count. Once again we were racing so we could get to science.

While Amber was handing us back our papers, half of Mrs. Hudson’s class came charging in like a herd of elephants for some colors for social studies. The classroom was an ocean of papers after Amber was done handing them out. We did a little four-question quiz. We also talked about our assignment from yesterday. Then like always, we had an assignment. We had to do a review on reproduction and growth of animals. Next was reading.

During reading we talked a little bit about our last vodcast, and then we took a unit test. It was pretty easy. Then we started on our next vodcast.

After reading, everybody was racing down the hall again. Mrs. Dux announced that we had to take a fifty question-spelling test to see who would be on the spelling team. Then as the bell rang for lunch, everybody raced to line up so we could be first for macho nachos. Everybody’s stomachs were loud stomping rhinos hungry for some nachos. Then as the big hand on the clock came to the three, everybody ran outside to go play a game at recess.

Mrs. McAllister, our math teacher, told us to get out our assignment from yesterday. After we were done checking it, we handed them in numerical order. We had to take a 13-question test in 10 minutes. After she picked up our test, we read about proper and improper fractions. Of course that’s what our assignment was about.

In P.E. we warmed up with toilet tag. Then we talked about how to dribble a basketball. We split up into four groups and dribbled for about fifteen minutes.

Then we had social studies. When we walked in, Mrs. McDowell was in our classroom for guidance class. We talked about peer-pressure and self-respect.
Since that took thirty minutes out of social studies, we had no writing. Throughout social studies we wrote on papyrus, an Egyptian plant that was made into a paper. Since it was about Egypt, we had to use hieroglyphics instead of the regular alphabet.

Even though we didn’t have language arts, we had an assignment, a huge assignment. We had to write an essay on a special gift we would want to give to someone. After that, everybody sped up again trying to get their homework done.

Rrringg. 3:25 the best part of the day! Once again everybody was speeding like roadrunner trying to get home.
