December 3, 2007

It all started when I figured out today was my day to be roving reporter. I better think of something first-rate because all of us are getting very good at this. I think as the year goes on it will get harder to think of things that no one else in the class has talked about. Sometimes I feel like I have heard that line before. It is hard being original.
We started by taking lunch count then signing the Pledge of
Allegiance. After that Mrs.Dux read us a book. It was called The
Christmas Box.
Our first class was science. We started class by handing out
papers. Then we read about solids, liquids and gases. We read about
these on pages E10 and E11, and our assignment was worksheet page
232.
Reading class was next. We did lesson 21 and 22. We are learning
how to read smooth as ice. Although I thought it would be easy, it
is harder than I realized it would be.
In spelling class we started by taking a pretest. Afterwards we
were to do pages 72 and 73. Then we sang Happy Birthday to a
special birthday teacher. Mrs. Dux’s birthday was December 2nd.
She’s still as young as a spring chick. Afterwards we got hot
chocolate and a candy cane.
Today for lunch we had grilled cheese and then we went to recess. I
played football and others played basketball. It was as cold as
frostbite. The wind was very blustery.
Math class was all about numbers, decimals to be exact. We started
by checking our work from last Friday. Afterwards we did our 2
minute timing.
Meanwhile in social studies we checked pages 24, 25 and 26. After
that we checked our G.O. and our assignment was to study our
vocabulary.
Afterwards was library. First we started by checking out our books.
After that we did a worksheet on computer safety. Then in music we
started by learning the keys. After that we got to try it out on
the keyboard.
Last but not least was study hall and band. Any one that had band
went to band. All the others stayed in class and did homework. All
in all it was a pretty good day.
I went home and did my homework and roving reporter, and then
outside was a blanket of darkness.
