Coffins in Social Studies

(Swissssh of a broom) It was 8:13 at Jefferson and we were cleaning up our classroom. Tyler was sweeping the floor with a broom, while Trey was using a dust pan and hand broom. And finally Kouper was vacuuming the rug.

When we were done we could go to science and learn about the periodic table of elements. During class we learned about how the elements got their atomic number by counting the protons. Later Matt generously let us use his mini LCD flashlight to shine a light through a store bought egg so we can try and see the yoke.

Afterward it was time for reading. We were we read about Chinese tombs. We also were taught about prefixes like un, dis, tri, or pre. Before we left class, we did a timed reading where we read about Chinese tombs again.

Next we went back into our home class to watch a vodcast that was made by a neighboring reading class. The cast taught good attitudes and advice about sticky situations. They also did a funny little sketch where Grayson is running through the hall and accidentally runs into Mrs. Dux which makes her drop her books and spills coffee all over.

At recess we were limited to the black top were we either played dodge ball; kick ball, or four square.

Going into math, we were taking two tests. These tests were about graphs, means, modes, range, and median.

Now for the final subject, social studies, where we bandaged up our mummies. So let’s go through the steps: step1 Bring mummy, which a few neglected to bring; step2 spread news paper on the floor; step3 three receive a bucket of water and glue; step4 grab a piece of linen; step5 dunk the linen in the bucket. This was extremely gross and sticky; step6 drain excess glue; step7 wrap your mummy in linen; step8 place mummy in prepared coffin, put rubber bands on it, and you’re done.

Now before we all went home Mrs. Dux wanted us to give her a little Christmas present. And that present was for us to be quiet for five minutes and read AR.

As I sign off, I just want to say stay safe and good-bye.
