It was a cold, ice bitten day. Jack Frost’s wind was blowing our hair in tangles and biting our noses and bright red cheeks. With a chance of snow, we all scrambled inside the warm air for another day of school.
In science we quickly looked over our work sheet, and since our chapter is about elements, we took a look at carbon. We also discussed carbon dioxide and learned that there are very few coins that are pure silver. Our class split up for reading, but my reading class was probably the luckiest because Mrs. Dux kept her promise and gave us Mountain Dew. Then we played the card game Apples to Apples which taught us new vocabulary words.
For guidance Mrs. McDowell came in and taught us about trustworthiness. She had us do skits and asked us questions about how you would be trustworthy in the same situations. We learned the traits of trustworthiness that make us a great friend.
Our stomachs were growling almost as fast as the wind was blowing outside. We gobbled our chicken nuggets down and went to our classroom for inside recess since it was already snowing outside.
We headed for math where we checked our work sheets, took a quiz, and learned about right triangles, acute triangles, and obtuse triangles. We also learned about equilateral triangles, isosceles triangles, and scalene triangles.
Everybody was looking forward to P.E. where we played hockey with swimming pool noodles and played box hockey.
When we came back into our classroom, Mrs. Dux was waiting to teach social studies. We watched a movie on Hinduism and finished a work sheet packet about the movie. We learned that Hinduism was not founded by a single person.
We started writing by sharing our topic sentences for our persuasive essays. Mrs. Dux gave us a lot of advice for our writing. In study hall everyone was busy, so busy we thought we could sleep like a dog. Finally the ring of the stubborn school bell rang through us as we again headed outside to battle Jack Frost’s attack.
