Study Hall

It was just another day in paradise, if you’re idea of paradise is freezing cold weather. It was so cold that we had recess inside AGAIN!!! Hopefully warmer days will be coming real soon!

Peace Brother! We watched a video on the 60’s in Science class. We learned about the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement and music of the times. Sixties music seems really cool!

In reading, we started a new book called Role of Thunder Hear My Cry. We made a poster featuring uncommon champions. These champions are people who do extraordinary feats despite their disabilities. One example is a young girl who was surfing and lost her arm in a shark attack. Despite this, the girl still surfs today. The girl is a strong example of courage.

For spelling, we studied words with -ion endings. We completed a work sheet to help us with these skills. For lunch, we had lasagna as a main course, but I chose a PBJ instead. Recess was inside due to the cold. Some people played games, but I decided to do some of my homework

In math, we learned about different kinds of polygons and equilaterals. There are surprisingly a large amount of these. Luckily, Mrs. Mac gave us a vocabulary book so that we can write down the definitions of these math terms.

In P.E., we balanced pool noodles on our hands which is surprisingly very easy. Next, we threw the pool noodles across the gym as if they were javelins. In social studies we played a game to help learn information for our test tomorrow.

In band, we worked on the song, Rock of Gibraltar. Most people who were not in band, did not have homework, so most people read.

At the end of the day, we put on our warm coats, hats and gloves and braved the cold once again.
