What a nice day! It was 50 degrees and not to hot and not to cold. What a PERFECT DAY! We did the usual lunch count and the pledge. We are reading the Perils of Peppermints. We got done reading the book for the day. We were all happy to start a new week. We drowsily went to science to learn something new for the day.
After a fast weekend we had to get in the thinking process of science. Mrs. Hudson told us to get out the elements worksheet from last week. We all looked rapidly in our folders. Some of us had to go back to the room to get it. After we checked the worksheet, we had to turn to page E 40. We reviewed from last week to refresh our memories. Then she passed out our homework for tomorrow. We all learned new vocabulary words for the week.
Off to reading we went. Mrs. Mac passed back the Friday’s test and vocabulary and talked about assonance and consonance. Assonance means a repeating vowel. For example waves and spray they both have the long A sound. Consonance means repeating consonant like sound and seahorse. We read a read aloud for the story this week. We learned that persona faction is not an animal that is really talking. Like the dog sighed. A dog does not sigh, people do. We are reading The Titanic and we are watching a movie about the Titanic on Friday. Next was spelling.
We were introduced to new words that end with age, ize and ive. We did workbook page 104 and top of page 105. Time for lunch.
For lunch we had breaded beef sticks and mashed potatoes. The Jeff table this week is for respectful people. Just four people sat at the table. For recess I played football. The score was a tie, zero to zero. Next was math time which is everybody’s favorite subject.
We learned about congruent angles and vocabulary words. We all got our purple booklets full of all the vocabulary words of the chapter. Timings were up next, and we graphed those. “We have an assignment due for Wednesday.” announced Mrs. Mac. Then off to social studies we all went.
In social studies we checked our graphic organizer and both workbook pages. We learned that Mesoamerica is a place where they grow all kinds of crops like squash, maize, and beans. Next was library and then music so we lined up at the door.
“Read your books or draw your picture for your book project,” said Mrs. Stritzke. Some of us had to either read our books or draw our picture for the book. Next we were off to music.
Music was a fun time. We danced with a boy or a girl to the dance called the “Swing”. Mr. Z talked about it before we danced to it. He showed us how to do it like the girls part and then did the boys part.
It was a fun day and we all had something to look forward to. Going outside was a choice if you had no homework. Another is we have a PTA program tomorrow and plus I’m not roving reporter.
