Egyptian Program

Most days are usually the same, but today was different because I was Roving Reporter. When I walked in and hung my coat and backpack up, Tyler asked if I wanted spaghetti or ham and cheese sandwich. Once the Sing Around Nebraska students came back, we said the Pledge of Allegiance. Mrs. Dux told us to get our books ready for science.

Mrs. Hudson, our science teacher, greeted us in the hallway. We checked over paper from yesterday. Then on the back of the paper we wrote down formulas. Did you know the formula of carbon dioxide was CO2? We tested blue pieces of paper to see if any of the liquids in the room had acid in them. If the paper turned red, it meant that the liquid had acid in it.

When science was over, we all hurried to our reading classrooms. Mrs. Dux then told us to turn to page 393 in our textbooks. But luckily Paige reminded Mrs. Dux to switch our textbooks because the ones that we have now had the page order mixed up. When we finally finished switching our books, we read the story, Titanic.

After reading, we had spelling. Jordan, Ronnie, and I were in the closet practicing our spelling bee words. And that’s bee with two e’s.

The students that sat at the Jeff table this week sat there because they were respectful. As the students ate their spaghetti or ham and cheese sandwich, the tables were dismissed to go back to the classroom for inside recess. The classrooms, at least our classroom, was hectic. When the bell rang at 11:30, everyone got ready for math.

Mrs. McAllister went over congruent and similar figures again, since everyone had questions for our assignment due Wednesday. Today in math we learned a lot more about congruent and similar figures.

Once math was over, we went to P.E. We warmed up with our noodles. We had to throw the noodles and run. Then we held the noodles in front of us, and students ran through.

Mrs. Dux started social studies with a vocabulary review. Then we read lesson two. We did a graphic organizer and workbook page 41.The classroom found out that the Maya and the Olmec were very similar.

Instead of writing, we had a program. The buses drove us to the 47 gym. The program was about Egyptian animals. There was a Honey Hawk, Emperor Scorpion, snake, a lizard that’s related to the Komodo dragon, a monkey, and lastly a Hedge Hog. View Pictures Here

When we warmed up from walking back from the gym, the percussion went to their lessons. Everyone else was in their desks doing homework.

At the beginning of the day, everyone thought it was going to be a normal day. But since the teachers had haggard looks on their faces, I could tell today was pretty exciting.
