Today is Monday March 17, 2008. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to all! I was excited to go to school today. Don’t forget the green, Zach. I didn’t have much green to wear so this was interesting.
We entered Mrs. Dux’s classroom with excitement. We started the day as we do on every other day with the Pledge of Allegiance. Afterwards we took lunch count. Today we had pork patty on a bun. Then Mrs. Dux read Perils of Peppermints.
Then we entered science. Today we started by reading E84 and E85. We then had a discussion on them. Mrs. Hudson then gave us our assignment worksheet 44 on energy resources.
In reading class we started by reading Major Taylor which was a story about a kid that has a paper route. He then gets a job at a store and he sweeps and does trick s on his bike. He made $6.00 a week. Then he goes and rides a 10 mile race which he wins. He then becomes the 1899 Champion and went around the world. For homework we had a fact and opinion sheet. We learned facts and opinions.
Spelling was next. We took a pre-test. We discussed the words and what they mean. Our assignment was to do page 137. We learned new spelling words.
Lunch and recess are up next for the day. Lunch consisted of pork patty on a bun, and it was very good. We had inside recess due to the rainy weather. I worked on my spelling and so did a lot of other kids.
In math class we started off by taking a two minute timing on multiplication. We then checked it and graphed it. We then graphed our L to J quiz. Time went by faster than a running rabbit.
Library was up next on the agenda. Today we worked on our library project and checked out books if we needed them. We then moved on to music class. We started off by singing our songs for the program. Then we learned more songs.
In social studies we checked our booklet, and then Mrs. Dux read Myths to us. Then we talked about Myth plays that we will be doing in class as a project. We learned more about the Greek gods and goddesses in Greek myths.
Writing is next up. We started by getting our assignment which was to do S and T for our alphabet book. Then we talked more about Greek myths.
Study hall was the last class today. We had our St. Patrick’s Day party. We worked on our homework and that was that. I grabbed my books and backpack and was ready to go home for a long night of homework. Good thing it is rainy because I don’t like homework when I can be outside.
