Imagine a world where you had to listen to bossy people (no
offence to the offended,) sit in hard chairs for almost 8 hours,
and DO Homework!! That is what I call Jefferson Intermediate. And
right here in that school is where I, the Roving Reporter, take
action at the scene of the crime. AKA, 6th grade school.
In this world where we listen to people, sit in hard chairs, and do
homework, is where the start of the day is at. Starting the day off
in like always, science class was…interesting. We learned more
about nuclear fission and nuclear fusion. We also learned about
wind and hydroelectric power. With about 10 minutes left of class
Mrs. Hudson gave us a worksheet that you cut, glue, and then color.
Suddenly the bell rang we all zipped to our reading classes.
When reading finally got going, Mrs. Dux BOSSED US to read our story in our textbooks. Then after everyone moped about how yesterday’s assignment was too hard, Mrs. Dux helped us with our worksheets from yesterday. (Even though I did get help, I’d like to say that I didn’t mope). After everyone else waited by the door for 5 minutes, Mrs. Dux realized that it was time to go. So everyone from the other classes packed up their stuff and headed out.
When spelling was started, we checked our previous papers. Then we took the bubble test with the electronic clickers. Since the time seemed so short, it was time for everyone’s favorite subject…LUNCH!
For lunch we had delicious sloppy joes and the classical PB&J. For recess some played football and 4-square while most played basketball.
When we got into math it was a simple review from yesterday. After the review, we had board races, which was when we race to the board and be the first one to get the math equation. Then Mrs. McAllister gave us a booklet with adding and subtracting fractions. When she gave it to us the whole class gave her a big AAAAAAAWWWWWWW MMMMAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!! But, like always, Ms. Seibolt was waiting at the door so we packed up and headed out of math.
For P.E. we danced to the soldier boy dance and then learned another dance.
In social studies class we had a TEST!!!!!!!.
In writing we rehearsed our Greek plays with our groups and decided the props we were going to bring. We were earlier assigned the next 2 letters in our alphabet books.
For living in a world that you have to listen to bossy teachers, sit in hard chairs for about 8 hours, and DO HOMEWORK, you will know that you will survive. So even though I don’t have any tips for you, I will tell you one thing…never salt your soup before tasting it.
