District 8 Board Members Recognized

On Wednesday, September 2, 2009, the District 8, Fairbury Board of Education received a plaque recognizing them for the 2008-2009 Nebraska School Boards Association "Outstanding Board Award." This was the sixth consecutive year that time the Fairbury Board had been so recognized. Out of the 270 member districts and ESUs statewide, the Fairbury Board was one of only 10 qualifiers for this distinction this year.
To qualify for this award, all members of the board must have accumulated a certain number of points by attending meetings, work sessions, and board development workshops. Each member must have attained a minimum of a Level I Award and the total number of points must be greater than 1,000 points with at least 200 being awarded during the current board development year.
Also earning individual awards at the Fall Membership Meeting were: Brian Starck - Level I; Vickie Banahan, Gary Muell and Chris Ruzicka - Level IV; and Richard Zimmeran - Level VIII. Wade Vernon received the Level V award during the 2007-2008 year.
