The morning class in their "Cat in the Hat" hats

Dr. Seuss and Read Across America

Cat In the Hat

by Sarah Parker

This month we celebrated Read Across America and Dr. Seuss day.

We read a few books by Dr. Seuss including Green Eggs and Ham and a Cat in the Hat all by myself reader called Inside, Outside, Upside Down.  We then practiced our directional words by going inside, outside, upside down and behind, in front, and under our own box.

We also made Cat in the Hat hats and ate green eggs and ham for our meal.  That night some of us even went to the Read Across America/Read Across Fairbury Pancake supper.  The Kiwanis club donated a book to each of the students in our class as well as to all the students in all the classes at Central and Jefferson.  It was fun to pick out our own books to take home!  Thank you Kiwanis Club!
