Today is September 2, 2009; this is Halle your Roving Reporter. The day had started out cloudy and in the 60’s with a chance of rain.
We all packed our bags and walked to reading with Mrs. Dux! We looked over some Roving Reporters, and read chapter 5 out of our novel “A Stranger Came ashore”. We also learned what troll dolls were; everybody seemed to be interested in them. Back to the book; it has gotten really good. For our assignment we had to read chapter 6 and answer questions!
When we were done with reading we got out our Reasoning and Writing books. We learned more about grammar, and some ideas of things to put in our Roving Reporter. We aren’t too crazy about Reasoning and Writing but we withstood it today! Next we were leaving Mrs. Dux's room and entering a new room.
Math with Mrs. Mac was fun today because we took a clicker quiz. We all learned something in Math: “To read the directions before answering the problems!” We were all hungry, but we had an assignment. We were to study for another quiz tomorrow over orders of operations. We were then off to lunch!
As we walked in we could smell the noodles and hamburger. We talked and ate our lunch. In a little while it was time to go to recess. At recess we all enjoyed playing four square, kickball, and playing on the jungle gyms. The bell rang and we were inside sitting at our desk when Miss Seibolt arrived!
P.E. was fun as we ran six laps and it took our breath away. As Miss Seibolt told us what we were doing, we got started kicking off tees! Before we knew it, P.E. was over and we were back in the class room.
Science with Mrs. Hudson was fun because we did a little experiment! We learned that if you put 25ml and 8 cubes in a cubic centimeter, the water rises up to 30ml. We also did it with clay. Although the clay smelled it was fun playing with it and making it fit into the cubic centimeter. Once we finished science it was off to social studies!
Social studies was a little different today because we went to computer class! We all figured out our username and password, and then we started browsing the Internet for pictures. Then we saved them to put them into Movie Maker. It was time to go before we knew it!
We all got settled in and kids were going off to band and to Mrs. Dux’s room and Mrs. Mac’s room to ask them questions! As kids were reading, doing homework, and coming and going from band, it amazed me that the day was finally almost over. As we got our things together to go home, the 4:20 bell rang. Out the door we went!
At the end of the day we had lots of homework. Knowing we had a long weekend coming, I felt pretty good!
