Today when I got to school, our teacher was not there and we had a substitute who was Mrs. Purse.  In our first class, which was reading and language arts, my class and I played a spelling game where a person has to spell a word, and if the word was spelled correctly, they got to shoot a basketball into a hoop.   The boys were facing off with the girls, and the girls won the game.

My second class of the day was social studies. In this class we had a CD playing that goes along with our book and it was about  Nebucunezzer and the Code of Hammurabi which was famous for the punishment of eye for an eye. We had an assignment on page 11 in our work book.

After social studies is my favorite time of the day, which is lunch because I get to eat, talk, and hangout with my friends at the table.  After we ate, we had recess and then it was back to school work.

Once we finished recess, our sub read a book to us. I don’t recall the name of the book, but it was about these two twins who look alike, which were named Jay-Ray Greyson, and Ray-Jay Greyson.

Music followed the reading, and we were going to watch a movie in class, but however it wasn’t working, so we went to library to use the TV in there. The movie was about all the high school classes who have performed in previous programs.

Next we had math class, and in this class we learned about averages and how to find the mean, mode, and median. Our lesson was page 73, questions 6-18. After math we had science which my class and I learned about Antonio Lavoisier, who founded oxygen and hydrogen. Lastly we had study hall where I worked on my math and social studies and finished them both.

Overall I had a really good day, learned lots of interesting things with the Code of Hammurabi, and feel I understand how to figure out averages better.
